We believe everyone deserves access to recovery. Understanding your costs and options is the first step.
Medi-Cal Does Not Cover Residential Fees
Medi-Cal (California Medicaid) does not pay for residential sober living fees. Residents are personally responsible for their monthly room and board costs.
However, Medi-Cal does cover many clinical services you may receive while living here β including therapy, counseling, medication management, and other behavioral health services provided by licensed clinicians.
What Medi-Cal Does Cover
Clinical services billed directly through Medi-Cal
Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist or counselor
Group Counseling
Structured group therapy and behavioral health sessions
Medication Services
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and psychiatric medication management
Clinical Assessments
Mental health and substance use disorder evaluations
Case Management
Support coordinating your care, benefits, and community resources
Monthly Residential Rates
Room & board fees are paid directly by the resident.
Standard Rate
Shared room in a structured sober living home. Includes utilities, house meetings, peer support, and 24/7 staff availability.
Private / Premium Rate
Private or semi-private room option. Same full support services with added privacy and comfort.
Everything Included in Your Monthly Rate
Subsidies & Financial Assistance
We offer a limited number of subsidized placements for residents who qualify. Subsidies are need-based and subject to availability.

Self-Pay
Pay monthly by cash, money order, or bank transfer
County / Agency Vouchers
We accept vouchers from LA County DCFS, Probation, and select social service agencies
Nonprofit Grants
Some residents may qualify for third-party grant funding β ask our intake team
Sliding Scale (Subsidy)
Reduced rates available for qualifying residents β see subsidy section above

501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organization
Gift of Life Recovery & Sober Living Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All qualifying donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Your financial support β whether a one-time gift or recurring contribution β directly funds subsidized placements, life skills programming, and community events for residents in recovery.
Tax-Deductible Donations
Donors receive a written acknowledgment for all contributions. Consult your tax advisor for deductibility.
Corporate Sponsorships
Businesses can sponsor our homes, events, or programs and receive recognition as a community partner.
In-Kind Contributions
We accept donations of furniture, household goods, clothing, and non-perishable food items for residents.
Grant Funding
Our 501(c)(3) status makes us eligible for government and private foundation grants that expand our capacity.
Gift of Life Recovery & Sober Living Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. EIN available upon request. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
